Northwich Town suffered a disappointing blow following the May elections. Northwich Councillors Kate Birtwistle ,Terry Birtwistle, George Miller were not returned, despite all their hard work for the local community. However, Northwich does have some new conservative councillors including:
Cllr Gaynor Sinar - Davenham and Moulton
Cllr Elton Watson - Davenham and Moulton.
Despite the results, your Conservatives continue to work for you in the local community.
We will hold Labour to account on their election promises!
Do Labour need a visit to the memory clinic?
Northwich councillors would like to clear up another point the Labour group seem to be more than a little confused over. Far from their claims of Conservative culpability, patients from the VIN were turfed out of their beds on May 3, 2010. This action was taken whilst we had a Labour Government. As for the cancellation of the new super inpatient unit, this was announced in March 2010, aslo under the caring Labour Government.
Selective memory is all well and good on the part of the Labour group but anyone can check the facts online. So thank you Clr Dolan, we will continue to fight for the people of Northwich to reverse a decision made under your lot!
Your Northwich Conservative councillors, together with SONIC, on April 13, had an inspection tour of the wards at the VIN. We're now looking at what we can do to get them re-instated with the help of the people of Northwich.
Cheshire West and Chester Councillors attended a meeting with SONIC and Nora Dolphin of LINk on Friday March 4. Cllrs Kate Birtwistle, Terry Birtwistle and Helen Weltman attended the meeting and agreed to support SONIC with a petition to council to ask for a debate on the future of the inpatient wards at VIN

Fed up of budget blues? Tune into us for a change!
Cheshire West and Chester Council’s budget meeting will be kicking off at 5pm on Thursday February 24. The meeting will be broadcast through the council homepage live from Wyvern House.
There has been a lot of publicity lately from other councils in the Northwest about the huge spending cuts they are going to have to make and how this will affect frontline services such as libraries. This is not the case for CW&C! Please tune in to watch your council in action this evening.
Thanks to prudent financial management, removal of duplication and waste we will not be making any cuts to frontline services. In fact, we are one of very few councils, possibly the only one in the country to be increasing our spending on Adult health and Social Care and we’ve invested an additional £3million in our road programmes.
In addition to all this, tonight’s budget will allocate millions of pounds of capital investment in Northwich.
So please tune in and listen to good news!
Round one to Northwich:
This evening, Thursday February 10, the Cheshire West and Chester Strategic Planning Committee voted to follow the officers' recommendation to object to the Brunner Mond application for an 'energy from waste plant'.
Northwich Councillors spoke against the application at the meeting and criticised Brunner Mond for their attempt to bring their integrity into question. The councillors were thrilled when the committee passed the recommendation to object. We would all like to pay tribute to campaign groups Chain and Sid for all the hard work they have put into this endeavour and all the people that have backed them, signing petitions, writing to the council, local press etc.
However, the saga is not yet over. The next round will be in the form of a public inquiry. Northwich will need together again and see this menace off once and for all!
***Strategic Planning Committe***
The Strategic Planning Committee will be meeting on Thursday, February 10, at Winsford Lifestyle Centre. On the agend is the Brunner Mond application for an 'energy from waste' plant. Even though Northwich councillors may not be on the committee they will be attending to speak on behalf of the many residents who have contacted them regarding this scheme.
The meeting is open to the public and starts at 4pm.
Announcement re Parking Charges in Northwich
We would like to make it clear for the record Cheshire West and Chester are not bringing in car parking charges for Northwich. There is no intention to bring them in now and none to do so in the future. CW&C's policy has been to reduce charges wherever possible.
Northwich councillors have always been vermently opposed to such a move and continue to be. Charging will not happen. To quote Cllr Helen Weltman and Cllr Kate Birtwistle, 'over our cold dead bodies'.
Despite this, opposition politicians have been scaremongering in the town centre asking people to sign a petition to stop us charging for parking.
It is a non-petition, there will not be charges for parking in Northwich so there really is little point trying to scare people into thinking that there will be.
We're afraid this just confirms what everyone already knew, that the opposition have nothing positive to offer and are prepared to play on people's fears in a desperate effort to score cheap political points.
Welcome to the website for Northwich Conservatives.
On April 1 2009, we saw the offical start of the new Cheshire West and Chester Authority. Cheshire West and Chester replaces both Vale Royal Borough Council and Cheshire County Council.
In May 2008 the voters of the two new Northwich wards voted for their representatives on this new authority. They returned six out of six Conservatives to the posts. These councillors between them represent the whole of the town of Northwich and the countryside areas beyond.
This website aims to be a key tool in helping these councillors effectivly meet your needs. We aim to keep you up to date with news, campaigns, events and what we are up to on your behalf. It also provides our contact details to enable us to communicate with you more effectively.
